Of course, the causes of Skin problems always be thoroughly examined and tackled at the root, but we have a few tips for you on how you can still do something good for your skin.

Our skin tips

1. thoroughly remove makeup

Even if it's hard after a long day, you should always remove your makeup thoroughly before going to bed, so that makeup and other deposits on the skin are removed. Otherwise, the skin dries out and impurities can occur.

2. drink enough water

The skin itself consists of about 80% water, which is important for blood circulation and boosts metabolism. Drink enough so that your skin does not become dull and dry. If you find it difficult to drink enough water, try adding some lemon to your water.

3. enough sleep

During sleep cells regenerate and our Immunesystem and thus ensures a fresh complexion. Too little Sleep can also promote inflammation, which can then lead to pimples and pustules.

4. out into nature

Our skin needs oxygen to look fresh. So it's best to get out into the fresh air and go for a walk. Because exercise in the fresh air also boosts the metabolism, which is good for the skin.

5. the right diet

Your diet should include as many fruits and vegetables as possible, and you should avoid products made from wheat flour or with a lot of sugar. And since everyone is individual & every skin reacts differently, you should see which foods are good for your skin.

Skin & Sun Protection

Sun also has its downsides. Exposing your skin to the sun's UV-A and UV-B rays for too long can lead to sunburn. And what many people forget: Even if it is cloudy, the UV rays can still reach your skin and cause damage.

Depending on your skin type, there is a different amount of time you can stay in the sun without protection. This period ranges from 10 minutes for light skin types to 90 minutes of self-protection for dark skin types. Applying a sunscreen will extend this period, however, it should be applied thoroughly & besides your body, don't forget your face! And to do your skin another favor, it's best to avoid the intense midday sun. The UV radiation of the sun is not always equally strong, but you should still make sure to protect your skin even on cold and cloudy days - because too much will harm it!

Since the skin on the face is usually not protected by clothing, you should pay special attention to it. Although many think that sun is good for pimples, because it dries them out, it is better to avoid too intensive sunbathing. Because the sun promotes the production of sebum and thus pores can clog faster.

Different forms of acne

Acne is a disease of the sebaceous glands of the skin. With increased sebum production, which is usually hormonal, the glands become clogged and blackheads form. But not all acne is the same. As a rule, acne vulgaris (the common acne) is distinguished into three different degrees of severity, whereby they are differentiated according to the degree of expression.

  • Acne comedonica (Mild acne): Here, many blackheads (comedones) are found on the skin. A blackhead is a pore that is clogged with sebum and horn. A distinction is made here between open (black blackheads) and closed (white-yellowish blackheads) comedones. No or only minor inflammation occurs.
  • Acne papulopustulosa (moderate acne): In addition to blackheads, larger papules and inflamed pustules occur in this form. Severe forms of acne papulopustulosa can affect not only the face but also the neck, back, upper arms and décolleté.
  • Acne conglobata (Severe acne): In this form, the papules and pustules can grow up to several centimeters in size because they are very inflamed. Here, too, other areas of the body are usually affected in addition to the face. These usually heal poorly & can leave scars.
