Winter is finally over! The temperatures are rising, initially still isolated flowers bring color into everyday life and seemingly lifeless trees awaken from hibernation again and form the first buds and leaves. Spring shakes us out of the winter doldrums and brings with it new strength and vigor. As soon as the first warm rays of sunshine shine through the window in the morning, our spirits are reawakened and we are literally drawn out into nature. The Fatigue that often overcomes you in winter falls away.Â
"Blossom by blossom the spring begins." Algernon Charles Swinburne
Sensory experiences
Spring can be experienced everywhere, it can be felt with all senses. We should be mindful of these sensory experiences and enjoy them, because then they can have a positive effect on our physical and mental health. Take the time to consciously perceive spring for yourself and let it affect you with all its stimuli and sensory impressions.
Smell: Perceive the scent of spring
Through the eye, we often perceive impressions first. However, if we consciously exclude this sense for the time being, then we automatically perceive the other sensory impressions more strongly. The scent of the first tulips, which you can now buy fresh again at the market, the fine breath of the first small blossoms on the fruit trees, or the spicy smell of the wild bear's leek, which you encounter during a walk through the forest. Close your eyes for a moment and consciously notice all these smells. Spring brings with it the feeling of something new, pure and fresh. For me, this feeling is expressed particularly strongly by the scent of the air after a heavy spring rain.
Taste: Enjoy the taste of spring
One memory of spring that has remained particularly strong in my mind from my childhood is the first scoop of ice cream of the year, as soon as the little Italian ice cream parlor around the corner from us had reopened after the winter break. Even today, the first ice cream triggers a lot of positive emotions in me, even if it sometimes makes your fingers freeze a little. Maybe you also have your own personal taste memory of spring that can trigger real feelings of happiness in you. Is it the first home-baked strawberry cake, or the first Aperol Spritz, in the sunshine on the balcony? For vegetable lovers, the offer of local produce at the weekly market is finally growing again in spring. Asparagus, radishes and lettuce, but also strawberries and Rhubarb then have their peak season.
Listen: Listening to the sounds of spring
In everyday life, we are often surrounded by a loud background of noise. On busy streets, in crowded department stores, or also by the fact that we often sound ourselves through music or other media. Just take time to consciously listen to the spring. The best place to do this is in nature, in a park, at the edge of a field or in the forest. During your next spring walk, take a short break to concentrate solely on the sounds of nature. Birdsong, the buzzing and humming of bees and other insects let you know that nature is awakening from hibernation and spread spring fever.
Feel: Making spring tangible
Of course, spring as such cannot be touched directly. However, we can feel it in its various forms. A plush willow catkin, a soft petal, the springy forest floor or the fresh grass under our steps. Early in the morning you can still feel the moisture of the morning dew on the meadows and at noon you can feel the power of the warm rays of the sun on your skin. A very special moment is to stand barefoot for the first time on fresh grass or even on the beach. This is actually also said to have a positive effect on the Immunesystem and is therefore highly recommended. Try it out directly on the next warm spring day.
Seeing: Discover the changes through spring
Spring looks colorful, bright and friendly. The general mood seems to brighten directly. I hope you see this just like me and that you too can enjoy its appearance. The first early blossoms are an unmistakable sign that nature has awakened again. White snowdrops, orange or purple crocuses, yellow daffodils shine in our faces. How about a fresh bouquet of flowers on the table? A bunch of colorful tulips will bring joy to the house and decorative.Â
Medicinal plants of spring
Also some Healingplants begin to sprout and blossom right in the spring. Perhaps your individual Zimply Natural medicinal plant mixture also contains one or the other element of a medicinal plant that can be harvested in spring.Â
Dandelion
The dandelion is a versatile medicinal plant. In naturopathy, dandelion is mainly used as a liver-kidney remedy, sometimes due to its diuretic effect. The use of dandelion is therefore helpful for metabolic, liver, bile and digestive disorders and as an excretory agent. The bitter substances of dandelion protect and regenerate liver cells, and dandelion extracts have been found to have a growth-inhibiting effect on various cancer cells. The bright yellow flower of the dandelion can be seen in Germany between April and July.

Nettle
Not only butterflies and countless other insect species love the stinging nettle, but also we use the multi-talent in a variety of applications. The nettle can be harvested from March to August and is widespread in our country. As a medicinal plant, the stinging nettle promotes metabolism, purifies and supports the body in regeneration. It is rich in trace elements and has the ability to bind acids, thus relieving the body. Furthermore, the nettle promotes hair growth and blood formation. It provides the body with plant-bound iron and can therefore rightly be called a multi-talent.Â
